What Shoplifting Costs You

That’s a pretty big number. And guess who has to pay for it? YOU!

Stores budget for these costs of course and build in the product losses, insurance, etc. into the price tag of every item passing these costs on to the consumer. An article yesterday by CNN reports that that retail theft in the USA costs each family $423 a year. What could your family do with an extra $400?

One company has found a way to reduce retail theft by spraying thieves with an artificial DNA when they exit the store. The warning signs alone seem to be deterrent enough. Though, because this is a new technology there have been some mishaps along the way.
